Engaged and Professional

Meaningful experiences,
lasting connections

At GRIIS, internships are more than professional placements. They are bridges between academic knowledge and real social impact. Our experiences are designed to match students’ fields of interest while offering full cultural immersion and the chance to practice advanced Spanish in real contexts. Thanks to our close ties with local organizations, NGOs and forward-thinking companies, internships are enriching for both the student and the community. Our academic team oversees each experience, ensuring students feel supported, challenged and empowered throughout their stay.

Internship Process

Phases, tasks, and requirements

Flexible commitments, real responsibility

Interns dedicate approximately 12-15 hours per week to their placement, adjusting to the host institution’s rhythm while maintaining a balanced academic load. Each student receives a tailored work plan according to their area of interest, level of Spanish, and previous experience. The goal is to provide a meaningful role within the organization, ensuring both learning and contribution.

Continuous support on both sides

Internships are supervised by both a local mentor at the host institution and a GRIIS academic advisor. The internal supervisor ensures daily integration and task fulfillment, while GRIIS follows up with regular evaluations, offering feedback, guidance and help with conflict resolution. This dual supervision ensures academic rigor and personal growth throughout the experience.

Structured experiences with academic reflection

Students are expected to keep a reflective journal documenting weekly progress, challenges, and learning outcomes. At the end of the placement, they submit a final paper that connects their internship experience with broader cultural and academic contexts. This combination of practice and analysis reinforces professional development and intercultural understanding.
