This program is the perfect short-term option for students looking to make the most of their winter break, both personally and academically.
Designed for students with limited availability during the academic year, the Winter Program offers an intensive, high-impact cultural and academic experience in southern Spain. Over the course of 3 weeks, participants engage in focused Spanish language study, cultural activities, and academic seminars – all within a fully immersive environment.
This program is ideal for students who want to improve their Spanish skills quickly while gaining meaningful insights into the country’s culture, society, and everyday life. With small class sizes, personalized support, and a thoughtfully curated schedule of excursions and activities, the January Program combines academic rigor with an authentic introduction to life in Granada.
Course description
Fast-paced language learning and cultural understanding
The program centers on an intensive Spanish language course adapted to each student’s level, along with optional seminars focused on Spanish culture and society. Dynamic and highly interactive classes are accompanied by cultural outings that reinforce classroom learning.
A condensed program with university-level credit
The course provides academic credit through the University of Granada, and an official transcript is issued upon completion. The workload and content are designed to reflect the same standards as semester programs—condensed into a shorter format.
Students live with local host families and enjoy full board and continuous language exposure. They receive personalized support from the GRIIS team, take part in guided visits and cultural experiences, and gain a strong sense of daily life in Granada.
