This semester program is for those who seek more than a study abroad experience: a serious, structured, and reflective time to rethink Spain from within.
This postgraduate program is designed for students and professionals who already hold a degree and wish to deepen their knowledge of contemporary Spain through advanced academic study and cultural immersion. Built on the foundations of our Hispanic Studies program, it expands the experience with higher-level content, a demanding intellectual framework, and personalized academic advising.
The curriculum offers a wide range of seminars in areas such as political thought, Spanish literature, gender and identity studies, and cultural theory—all taught in Spanish by university faculty. Courses are complemented by optional research components, cultural integration, and the chance to engage with local institutions through internships or field work.
Course description
A curated selection of graduate-level courses and research opportunities
The program includes advanced seminars taught at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas, a mandatory GRIIS seminar on contemporary Spain, and personalized academic tutoring. Students can also develop independent research projects or participate in internships related to their field of study.
Academic depth with official recognition
All courses are fully accredited by the University of Granada, with transcripts issued at the end of the program. The content and expectations are adapted to postgraduate-level learning, including critical reading, academic writing, and in-depth analysis.
A complete experience with academic and personal support
Participants live with host families or in selected residences, depending on their preference. They receive continuous advising and have access to cultural programming, institutional visits, trips and networking opportunities within Granada’s academic and professional community.
